JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Health, Safety, Environment and Quality

Job Title: HSEQ Administrator

Reports to: HSEQ Manager

Based in: Peterlee, Co Durham

Job Purpose: To support the HSEQ Manager in administering HSEQ systems to ensure compliance with HSE law and Quality standards.
 

Responsibilities and duties for the role will include:

Health and Safety

• To maintain COSHH register
• Support risk assessment process by completing the risk assessment log and following up on review dates
• Assist with investigations on accidents and incidents, processing paperwork for internal and/or external review
• Manage Health and Safety training records including dissemination of timely reminders for refresher training to the appropriate line managers
• Provide practical support to Health and Safety security checks e.g. fire alarm tests and drills
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on e.g. safety training updates, to be presented to the Leadership Team on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Support HSEQ Manager in monitoring and reviewing practice and documentation
•  Support the HSEQ Manager in collating and managing all documents relating to Health and Safety to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, consistent and accessible
   

Quality

• Manage non-conformance reports to ensure they are dealt with efficiently and accurately
• Assist with investigations on quality issues, processing paperwork for internal and/or external review
• Support the QA Inspector in quality assurance surveillance duties
• Follow up with internal customers to ensure full resolution of any issues raised
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on e.g. audit updates, to be presented to the leadership team
• Support the HSEQ Manager in monitoring and reviewing practice and documentation
• Support the HSEQ Manager in managing all documents relating to Quality to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, consistent and accessible
   

Environment

• Administer packaging waste transfer notes
• Liaise with recycling companies to ensure a timely and efficient service
• Coordinate packaging waste data to ensure relevant data is gathered in a timely and efficient manner
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on e.g. waste transfer data, to be presented to the Senior Management Team
• Support the HSEQ Manager in monitoring and reviewing practice and documentation
• Support the HSEQ Manager in managing all documents relating to Environment to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, consistent and accessible

• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
• Able to travel on occasion
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Ability to work closely as part of a team
• Willing to undergo departmental functional training (Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality) as and when required
• Willingness to learn and develop
• Have a minimum of IOSH Managing Safety accredited training
• An interest and/or experience of environmental law
• An awareness of ISO 9001 and 14001
